Job summary

Macquarie Group’s Cyber Threat and Incident Response team is seeking a software-focused security engineer to develop applications and automation that strengthen threat detection, investigation and response capabilities across our global operations.

You will partner with security and technology teams to design, build and maintain Python-based tools, implement DevOps & CI/CD pipelines, and help deliver secure, scalable solutions on ambitious timelines.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience developing applications and automation solutions.
• Strong ability to design, build and maintain Python applications.
• Experience implementing DevOps, CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across global teams.
• Able to plan and deliver work within challenging timelines; Agile experience desirable.

Our Cyber Threat and Incident Response team helps Macquarie operate safely in a complex digital environment. We detect, investigate and respond to cyber threats, and our Technology and Innovation team builds the tools and platforms that support this work.

What role will you play?

In this role you will develop applications and automation solutions that strengthen our ability to detect, investigate and respond to cyber threats. You will work closely with teams across our organisation to build efficient tools, improve workflows and deliver technology that supports our security operations.

What You Offer

• 3-7 years’ of experience in developing applications and automation solutions.
• Strong ability to design, build and maintain applications, primarily using Python, while improving efficiency through automation.
• Experience applying DevOps practices, including setting up continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for testing and deployment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across global teams.
• Ability to plan and deliver work to challenging timelines while managing stakeholder expectations; experience working in an Agile environment is desirable.
