NBCUniversal's Universal Pictures NSW is offering a part-time Publicity Intern role in Sydney. The position supports weekly publicity activities, event coordination, research and database management, providing hands-on exposure to film marketing.

You will assist with screenings, influencer tracking, partner outreach, and administrative tasks while developing skills in PowerPoint, Excel and industry research. Commitment is from March 2027 to December 2027.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and well organized.
  • Available to assist with evening screening events.

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly Marketing and Publicity team WIPs.
  • Review daily Social Diary EDM for new contacts and launches.
  • Collate screening reactions for global reports and pull quotes for opening day reviews.
  • Update Influencer Activity tracker with National Publicist.
  • General Administrative assistance as required.
  • Continually update the NSW Publicity Database.
  • Research potential partners for film promotions in NSW and gather market intel on media outlets/influencers.
  • Sourcing leads and refining pitch lists for Publicity team.
  • Send out in-season passes to NSW based partners.
  • Provide event support at local Sydney screenings and premiere events.

Regular Weekly Duties:

  • Attend weekly Marketing and Publicity team WIPs
  • Sign up to and review daily Social Diary EDM for new database contacts and for new product launches, publicity opportunities, updated contacts and report key headlines weekly - SYD
  • Collate screening reactions for global reports and pull quotes for opening day review reports, working alongside the National Publicist –
  • Update Influencer Activity tracker, working alongside National Publicist
  • General Administrative assistance as required

Database Management:

  • Continually update the NSW Publicity Database

Research: NSW

  • Researchpotential partners for film specific promotions e.g.: competitor activity, media monitoring and browsing (online, event pages, genre press outlets and community pages) along with influencer reach
  • Research major sporting, seasonal and music events with a view to potential publicity tie in with our film properties
  • Sourcing leads by gathering market intel on media outlets/ influencers to refine pitch lists to Publicity team
  • Prize fulfillment, sending out merchandise and prizing to winners NSW based

In Seasons

  • Sending out in-season passes to NSW based partners

Events / Screenings

  • General administrative and event support at local Sydney screenings and premiere events

Basic Requirements

  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Work, Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Well organized with great prioritization skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Excellent communication and a great team player
  • Available to assist with evening screening events

This part-time internship requires a 9-month commitment from March 2027 to December 2027.
