Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist psychiatric clinical services designed to achieve the best possible health outcomes for patients across the Mid North Coast Local Health District.
• Provide expert clinical management and guidance to staff and junior medical officers, including the delivery of education and training programs.
• Manage patient care within a complex clinical setting, utilizing modern assessment techniques and therapeutic approaches for a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant NSW Health policies and directives, including those specific to Category A positions.
• Adhere to all occupational assessment, screening, and vaccination requirements as mandated by state health regulations.

Requirements

• Must hold current registration, or be eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist.
• Must possess a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or an equivalent specialist recognition credential.
• Candidates currently enrolled in the RANZCP Substantial Comparability Pathway are eligible to apply, provided they submit verified evidence of their comparability assessment or those eligible for the expedited pathway. .
• Must be willing to comply with all general employment requirements, including occupational health and safety standards related to immunization and screening.
