Job summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Psychologist specialized in geriatric medicine to deliver advanced psychology assessment and intervention for older adults with cognitive and behavioral needs, including dementia and BPSD.

You will support the Acute Cognitive Unit, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and contribute to evidence-based practice, service development, and research while mentoring junior clinicians and allied health staff.

About you:

You are an experienced and compassionate psychologist who is passionate about supporting older people with complex psychological and cognitive needs. You will have:

• Demonstrated expertise in older people's mental health, cognition, dementia and complex behavioural and psychological symptoms.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clinical advice and navigate complex team situations.
• Excellent clinical reasoning, prioritisation and workload management skills in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Experience in providing clinical supervision, education and support, and contributing to service improvement initiatives.
