A public health service in Tasmania is seeking a psychologist to provide specialist psychological services to children and families affected by family violence. The role emphasizes collaborative, evidence-based therapeutic practices and requires specific qualifications. The Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS) offers specialised counselling and support to assist adults, children and young people who have experienced family violence. This service is part of the Safe at Home service system, with a strong focus on the safety and well‑being of victim survivors of family violence.
The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. Additionally, it provides community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services to the Tasmanian community through more than 300 sites. The Children and Young Persons’ Program (CHYPP) was established as part of the Safe at Home whole of government integrated response to family violence within Tasmania. CHYPP is located within the Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS) and works in close collaboration with other key Safe at Home agencies.
Provide specialist psychological services to children, young people and families affected by family violence, in accordance with best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Hobart - Tasmania
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to a salary package and a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
