South Eastern Sydney Local Health District’s St George Hospital in the Kogarah area offers a temporary part-time Provisional Fellow position in Pain Medicine. The role provides broad exposure to acute, chronic, and cancer pain within a multidisciplinary team, including trauma and palliative care collaboration.

Applicants must have completed the core Pain Medicine training. The post supports surgical and medical training pathways and is based at St George Hospital, with a pro rata annual salary

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible in Australia.
• Completed fellowship training in applicant’s primary specialty.
• Completed Core Training Stage Faculty of Pain Medicine.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience in pain research and publications.
• Commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching.

Responsabilités

What you’ll be doing

The Pain Management Unit at St George offers a wide range of experience for those completing their pain management training. There is regular exposure to many different pain presentations; acute, chronic and cancer. Our unit works closely with the Palliative Care Unit within the hospital and the local Hospice. As a Trauma Hospital there is the opportunity for increasing procedural experience as well as working with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes. Pain Management programmes are run regularly, and fellows are encouraged to participate in their delivery and formulation. Applicants must have completed the core training stage within the Faculty of Pain Medicine.

Selection Criteria

• MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
• Completed fellowship training in applicant’s primary specialty.
• Completed Core Training Stage Faculty of Pain Medicine.
• Demonstrated advanced ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
• Demonstrated experience in pain research and evidence if able of current research undertakings or scientific publications.
• Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and post graduate medical teaching.
