Provisional Fellow - Medical Imaging (Ultrasound) - The Royal Hospital for Women - 0.5 FTE
The Royal Hospital for Women is close to some of Sydney's best beaches, restaurants and sporting facilities and only fifteen (15) minutes from the Sydney Central Business District and harbour, adding a quality lifestyle to the satisfaction that comes from working within a committed and decided team. The Royal Hospital for Women is situated between the University of New South Wales and Coogee Beach.

The Royal Hospital for Women has been one of Australia’s foremost specialist hospitals for women and babies since its early beginnings as New South Wales first ‘lying-in’ hospital for women in 1820. As a principal teaching hospital of the University of NSW in the fields of obstetrics, gynaecology and neonatology The Royal has a history of innovation in women’s health care services, teaching and research.

The main areas of specialisation include breast care, gynaecology, gynaecological oncology, maternity, maternal-fetal medicine, medical imaging, menopause, newborn intensive care and reproductive medicine.

Each year the Hospital delivers up to 3,000 babies; cares for more than 600 premature babies; performs more than 3000 surgical procedures and has over 2000 visits through our Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS).

The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment whilst developing higher professional maturity and professionalism during the RANZCOG Advanced Training Program, with the goal of obtaining FRANZCOG. Provisional Fellows will, under an appropriate level of supervision by senior staff as approved by the RANZCOG, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients of all ages presenting in any condition or stage of pregnancy or the puerperium; and female patients presenting with illnesses, injuries and disorders of the gynaecological or genitourinary system.

The purpose of the position is to provide clinical support to the Department of Medical Imaging while working towards obtaining the DDU and/or COGU. This post is primarily in Diagnostic Ultrasound and is suitable for an Obstetrician or Radiologist who has recently obtained a Fellowship of the RANZCOG or RANZCR, or one who is in their last years of training.

The position represents an opportunity for involvement in a leading Department with an Obstetric, Prenatal, Neonatal and Gynaecological focus. It is expected that fellows with suitable training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology would participate in the after-hours roster. Conditions are on the basis of qualifications. This is not a postgraduate fellow position.
