Job summary

Queensland Health in Cairns is seeking a Prosthetics and Consignment Officer to help keep essential surgical services moving by ensuring timely availability of prostheses and consignment items for Cairns Hospital theatres.

You will manage consignment inventory, verify items against Standing Offer Arrangements before electronic requisitioning, and participate in reviews of inventory processes with the Nurse Unit Manager of Theatre to drive compliant, efficient practice.

• Participate in regular reviews of current inventory management processes to ensure compliance with best practices.

About your role:

• Inventory management of consignment items to ensure that appropriate clinical products are received in a timely manner to meet the agreed service demands of Cairns Hospital theatres.
• Ensure replacement consignment items are matched to the appropriate Standing Offer Arrangement (SOA) prior to the electronic requisitioning process.
• Participate in a regular review of current inventory management processes (in accordance with the Finance Management Procedure Manual) to ensure compliance with contemporary practices and instigate corrective action where necessary in conjunction with the Nurse Unit Manager of Theatre.
