About the Role:

Role Overview:

As a Property Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in handling a variety of property transactions and delivering high-quality legal services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage residential and commercial conveyancing, including due diligence across multiple states (NSW, VIC, QLD, WA)
• Oversee commercial conveyancing and leasing
• Handle mortgagee and bankruptcy sales
• Conduct land title transactions
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts of sale, special conditions, and put and call option agreements
• Provide advice on off-the-plan contracts in various jurisdictions
• Prepare deeds and assess duty issues across multiple states
• Prepare vendor disclosure statements
• Collaborate with directors to nurture and grow client relationships
• Mentor junior lawyers and graduates, fostering their professional development
• Work closely with colleagues, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient file management

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Property Law
• Proficiency with legal software and the PEXA electronic lodgement platform
• Ability to achieve billable targets
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High attention to detail and accuracy

Promotion Pathway:

• Associate Level: After demonstrating consistent performance and dedication, typically within 1-2 years, you can advance to the Associate level, taking on more complex cases and greater client management responsibilities.
• Senior Associate: With further experience and proven leadership, you can be promoted to Senior Associate, usually within 3-5 years. At this stage, you will oversee junior lawyers and larger projects, and play a key role in strategic firm initiatives.
• Special Counsel: As a Senior Associate, you may be eligible to become Special Counsel, focusing on high-profile cases and contributing to the firm’s thought leadership.
• Partnership: The ultimate career milestone, becoming a Partner, is achievable with a consistent track record of excellence, client growth, and contribution to the firm’s success. This path offers significant influence over the firm’s direction and substantial financial rewards.
