Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Melbourne is seeking an experienced paralegal to support the Banking & Finance team with high-volume settlements, presale reviews and document preparation.

You should have property-related experience in a law firm or conveyancing company; this role excludes new graduates. Join a leading independent law firm with flexible working and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years property related or legal administration experience in a law firm or conveyancing company
• Solid understanding of the conveyancing procedure, including parties involved and responsibility for documentation, attendances and funds
• Problem solving, communication and organisational skills
• Time management skills and ability to prioritise competing tasks under pressure
• Advanced knowledge and experience of Outlook, Word and Excel

Responsibilities

• Obtaining and reviewing Title, ASIC & PPSR searches
• Preparing or review of PPSR releases
• Preparing mortgages and settlement checklists
• Opening, maintaining and problem-solving PEXA workspaces
• Conducting multi-jurisdictional refinances, advance and discharge settlements
• Attendances with paper settlements (external) if and when required
• Reviewing and reporting on Subdivisions (NICO, landswaps, consolidations, Section 32A plans)
• Reviewing and reporting on Section 173 agreements
• Conducting and reporting on presale reviews
• Preparing internal and external correspondence
