Job summary

HTR Group is looking for a Projects ILS Practitioner in Cairns, QLD for a 12-month contract. Start circa September 2026.

The successful candidate will manage NATO codification, IOS cataloguing in LIMS, and support through-life sustainment in the Australian defence sector. Key duties include developing ILS documentation, coordinating with suppliers and Commercial, and serving as the primary POC for ILS management.

Qualifications

  • AGSVA security clearance required.
  • Defence sector experience is essential.
  • Certificate IV in Materiel Logistics or equivalent.
  • Experience as an ILS Practitioner in acquisition/sustainment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and manage ILS deliverables including codification and IOS cataloguing in LIMS.
  • Identify supplier and repair pipelines and support life-cycle sustainment.
  • Develop and update technical documentation for service introduction and sustainment.
  • Use LIMS to process transactions for introduction and issue of products.
  • Prepare entitlement documentation and liaise with stakeholders as lead POC.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to ILS reports and testing outcomes.

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Projects ILS Practitioner, on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in Cairns,QLD. The contract is for a 12 month period.

Start: circa September 2026

DSS Skill Set: Level 3 - Integrated Logistics Support Management

The ILS Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Perform and manage all aspects of ILS deliverables including codification (NATO) and cataloguing of all items of supply (IOS) within the mandated logistics inventory management systems (LIMS).
  • Identify supplier and repair pipelines, and as necessary assist Commercial to establish through life support contracts in support of sustainment.
  • Develop, review and update all technical documentation in support of introduction to service and sustainment of products, such as equipment schedules and repair parts schedules.
  • Utilising the authorised LIMS, undertake transactions and functions to introduce into service and issue all products and parts in support of projects, in line with directed unit entitlements.
  • Develop and submit entitlement documentation.
  • Undertake all aspects of liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including being the key lead POC for all aspects of ILS management.
  • Participate in various stakeholder meetings, to effectively manage all ILS deliverables.
  • Prepare or contribute to the creation and review of all reports related to ILS management and artefacts.
  • Participate in Acceptance Testing related to ILS. Review ILS related test results and make recommendations on the acceptability of outcomes.
Minimum mandatory requirements:
  • AGSVA Security clearance.
  • Defence experience.
  • Certificate IV of Materiel Logistics or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as an ILS Practitioner in the Acquisition and Sustainment phases of the Life Cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Introduction Into-Service of Capabilities and Fundamental Input to Capability requirements.
