Job summary

Tamworth Regional Council is seeking a Projects & Approvals Officer to support engineering and operational teams in planning, coordinating and delivering road maintenance and infrastructure projects across the Tamworth Regional Council area.

You will manage documentation, budgets, contracts and reporting while working with engineers, supervisors and technical staff to deliver community infrastructure. A strong focus on project administration and stakeholder coordination is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Project Management or equivalent.
• Experience supporting infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of contract administration and project management principles.
• Ability to research information and present findings clearly.
• Current Drivers Licence.

Job description

• Provide practical project & contract support
• Assist with budgets, planning & compliance
• Provide high-level customer service to all project stakeholders

The Projects & Approvals Officer will provide support to Council's engineering and operational teams and help to plan, coordinate and deliver road maintenance, operations & infrastructure projects across the Tamworth Regional Council area.

With loads of variety, no two days will be the same. You'll work across project planning, budget monitoring, contract & specification documentation, reporting, grant acquittals and capital works programming and provide practical support to engineers, supervisors & technical staff.

COULD THIS BE YOU?

We are seeking an experienced project or contracts administrator who enjoys working across a mix of projects, documentation, budgets and stakeholders.

You will bring solid experience in project, contract or construction administration and be comfortable working with multiple priorities, stakeholders & deadlines.

With a practical understanding of project management principles, funding agreements & contracts you will assist with the preparation of complex documentation.

In the role of Project & Approvals Officer you will:

• Support the management & financial control of infrastructure projects & operational functions
• Assist with budget reviews, estimating & capital works planning
• Provide technical project support for road maintenance, operations & infrastructure projects
• Provide technical & administrative assistance to a range of stakeholders
• Have the ability to use your initiative, work independently & develop priorities
• Work as a collaborative member of the engineering & operational team

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

• Certificate IV in Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent
• Experience supporting teams in the delivery of infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of contract administration and project management principles
• Ability to research information & present findings clearly
• Current Drivers Licence

Salary range: Grade 14 - $87,644.35 - $94,839.77 per annum plus allowances and superannuation for a 35-hour work week.

Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
