Job description

The Opportunity

At APA, our purpose is to secure Australia’s energy future. We’re not doing it alone. We’re doing it with our customers and communities as Australia’s energy infrastructure partner, a role our unique experience and expertise positions us to play.

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Manager to join our Grid Solutions Program (GSP) team in our Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney office on a 2-year fixed-term basis.

Reporting to the Portfolio Delivery Manager, you will play a key role in delivering critical outcomes across several GSP value streams. Working within one of APA's most significant business and technology transformation programs, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of multiple workstreams, ensuring milestones are achieved, dependencies are managed and teams remain focused on execution.

This role is ideal for a delivery-focused project professional who thrives in complex environments, can quickly establish credibility and enjoys bringing together business, technology and vendor teams to achieve outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery across multiple GSP value streams, ensuring milestones, dependencies and deliverables are achieved on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Drive delivery from requirements clarification through design, build and system testing, maintaining visibility of risks, issues and critical path activities.
  • Taking a strongly people centric approach, coordinate cross-functional resources, balancing priorities, capacity and competing demands to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and external delivery partners to ensure alignment and timely decision-making.
  • Proactively identify, manage and escalation risks, issues and blockers, providing clear recommendations and recovery actions where required.
  • Maintain governance artefacts, delivery plans and status reporting, ensuring scope changes and impacts are understood, documented and effectively managed.
Your Background
  • Proven experience delivering complex technology, digital transformation or enterprise system implementation projects within large organisations.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple workstreams or project streams concurrently within a broader program environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across business, technology, delivery partners and vendors.
  • Experience managing requirements, dependencies, delivery risks, testing activities and implementation readiness.
  • A structured, organised and pragmatic approach, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities and tight delivery timelines.
  • Experience within energy, utilities, infrastructure or other highly regulated industries will be highly regarded.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-profile transformation program that will shape how APA's gas infrastructure supports customers and operations into the future. You'll work alongside experienced delivery professionals, business leaders and industry partners while driving outcomes that have meaningful enterprise-wide impact.
