Job summary

Downer seeks a Project Manager for its Energy & Utilities team to oversee distribution network, secondary systems, substation and transmission projects across NSW. Based at the Hexham office with travel to sites, you will lead tender submissions and deliver projects in line with safety, time and budget objectives.

The role requires extensive Energy Supply Industry experience, a relevant degree, and CPSPM certification (preferred).

Qualifications

• Diploma in Project Management required or preferred.
• Extensive Energy Supply Industry experience is essential.
• CPSPM certification with AIPM is desirable.
• Strong financial management, budgeting and reporting skills.
• Experience with subcontracting and procurement management.
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, Primavera P6; knowledge of risk analysis tools.
• Familiarity with AS/NZ/ISO standards and NSW Electrical Industry legislation.
• Commitment to OH&S, quality management and environmental principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead tender submissions and overall project delivery.
• Manage scope, design, and construction methodologies; develop WBS and schedules.
• Prepare cost estimates, RFQs, and conduct risk assessments with mitigation plans.
• Develop and implement detailed project plans and ensure delivery within safety, cost, time and quality targets.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Project Manager to join our Energy & Utilities Business, managing distribution network, secondary systems, substation and transmissions projects across NSW. This role will be based out of our Hexham office with regular travel to site.

What You'll Do

Role requirements include leading the development of tender submissions and project delivery including: scope management, design management, determining construction methodologies, financial WBS and schedule development, request for quotations, cost estimation, risk assessment and implementation of risk mitigation strategies, development and implementation project plans and overall delivery responsibility for assigned projects. Projects must be completed within agreed stakeholder parameters of safety, cost, time and quality that meet our business objectives while fully complying to Downer Standard.

What We’re Looking For

• Diploma in Project Management and Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred
• Extensive Energy Supply Industry experience
• CPSPM certification with AIPM
• Financial management, budgeting and reporting
• Subcontract / Procurement management
• Competent in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Primavera P6, Expert Estimator, @Risk analysis
