Job summary

Retail Zoo in Melbourne is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of store builds, refurbishments and relocations, ensuring brand standards, timelines and budget adherence across a growing portfolio of busy brands.

You will manage the full project lifecycle from planning through tendering, cost control and handover, coordinating landlords, shopfitters and internal teams to deliver high-quality openings across Australia.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering retail or multi-site fit-out projects.
• Ability to build relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
• Solid commercial awareness and cost control.
• Experience reviewing drawings and project scopes.
• Strong organisation and multi-project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver new store builds, refurbishments and relocations from planning through to handover.
• Manage project budgets, tender processes and shopfitter negotiations, controlling costs and minimising variations.
• Coordinate landlords, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure seamless store openings.
• Oversee procurement, site execution, handovers and defect resolution while continuously improving design and build outcomes.
• Conduct site visits to assess asset conditions, define scope of works and support lease negotiations where required.

We’re looking for a driven Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in the next chapter of our story. In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of new store builds, refurbishments and relocations, ensuring every project meets brand standards, timelines and budget expectations. You’ll manage the full project lifecycle from scope and approvals through to tendering, cost control, contractor coordination and final handover, working closely with internal teams, landlords and shopfitters to deliver high-quality store environments and seamless openings.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and deliver new store builds, refurbishments and relocations from planning through to handover

Manage project budgets, tender processes and shopfitter negotiations, controlling costs and minimising variations

Coordinate landlords, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure seamless store openings

Oversee procurement, site execution, handovers and defect resolution while continuously improving design and build outcomes

Conduct site visits to assess asset conditions, define scope of works and support lease negotiations where required

Maintain clear, transparent communication across the business, ensuring teams understand project impacts and key milestones

Our ideal candidate will have:

Experience supporting or delivering retail, hospitality or multi-site fit-out projects

The ability to build strong relationships with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders

Solid commercial awareness and an understanding of project budgets and cost control

Experience reviewing drawings, documentation or project scopes

Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams

A proactive mindset and the confidence to take ownership and drive outcomes

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
