Job summary

Holcim Australia invites a seasoned Project Manager/Engineer to lead the Humes digital transformation and manage the digital training plan and digital projects across the Humes business unit in Milton, QLD.

You will identify and manage innovative initiatives, work with cross-functional teams, ensure safety, and drive cost reductions while maintaining schedule and quality. This is a permanent, full-time role with a competitive remuneration package in a supportive, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or practical understanding of engineering principles.
• Experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer in civil construction, precast, concrete, heavy manufacturing, steel or related fields.
• Ability to read complex engineering drawings and strong MS Office experience; SAP proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Humes digital transformation and manage the digital training plan.
• Develop and implement digital projects across the Humes business unit to improve processes and reduce costs.
• Drive the 5-year operational innovation and technology strategy for Humes.
• Digitise operations administrative processes and ensure changes are embedded via Holcim processes.
• Promote safety culture across Holcim at all times.
• Prepare capital proposals through a Process Improvement Program and liaise with product management.

About the opportunity:

This is a pivotal, high-impact role in which you will drive our Humes digital transformation strategy -managing the development and implementation of the digital training plan as well as the development and implementation of Digital Projects across the Humes business unit. You will identify, lead and manage innovative initiatives and work with teams across Humes to deliver innovative processes, customer centric products and services and sustained cost reductions in manufacturing.

Further and detailed accountabilities are found in the Position Description which is available upon request and will include:

• In conjunction with National Manager R&D, Innovation and Assets and the Humes leadership team supporting the defining and implementation of the Humes R&D strategy to accelerate the building of our technological advantage.
• Ensuring changes are embedded via the Holcim change management process.
• Playing a key role in the development of the 5-year operational innovation and technology strategy for Humes.
• Planning and leading the digitisation of Humes' operations administrative processes.
• Ensuring changes are embedded via the Holcim change management process.
• Actively leading and promoting a safety culture across Holcim at all times.
• Developing, rolling out and ensuring the consistent implementation of a Process Improvement Program, including the submission of capital proposals to achieve improvements and progressive cost reductions.
• Building business/technical case analyses with product management.

About You:

To thrive in this role, you will bring a sharp technical mind and a passion for people. You should possess:

• Qualifications in or a sound, practical understanding of engineering principles. (Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline preferred).
• Industry Expertise:Proven experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer within Civil Construction, Precast, Concrete, heavy manufacturing, Steel, or the broader construction industries (ideal).
• Credible IT 'nous.'
• Technical Skills:The ability to confidently read complex engineering drawings, alongside strong proficiency in Microsoft Office andSAP.
• Commercial & Cost Savvy:Strong knowledge of estimating, tendering, and a deep understanding of manufacturing cost drivers.
• Contractual Acumen:In-depth knowledge of contractual matters and a high level of commercial awareness to successfully navigate complex infrastructure projects.
• Dynamic Communication:Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. You know how to bring positive energy to external clients while keeping internal teams aligned on time, cost, quality, and OH&S.
