Job summary

Ora Banda Mining is progressing towards its Drive to 300, aiming to double gold production and build a new processing plant in the Eastern Goldfields region. The role focuses on forming exploration models, integrating diverse geoscience data, and generating high-quality targets in a growing environment.

We seek Geology graduates with 3–5 years in exploration, strong GIS skills (QGIS/Leapfrog/ioGAS), and a drive to test new geological ideas.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Geology degree required.
• Experience in geological interpretation and modeling.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Formulate exploration models using mineral systems concepts and regional geology.
• Compile and evaluate geoscience data from surface, drilling, remote sensing, geophysics.
• Integrate data to form geology maps including regolith, stratigraphy, structure.
• Generate targets based on ranking prospective geological criteria.
• Plan and execute project work and field programs with timely reporting.
• Assist with day-to-day management of drill contractor and sampling practices.
• Ensure concise geological reporting on a daily and monthly basis.

The role

• Formulate exploration models using mineral systems concepts, knowledge of Eastern Goldfields tectono-thermal history and gold mineralisation analogues
• Compile and evaluate geoscientific data including all types of surface and drilling samples, remote sensing, geophysical and geochemical data
• Integrate available data to form solid geology maps combining regolith, stratigraphy, structure and alteration
• Target generation primarily based on the ranking of prospective geological criteria
• Plan and execute both project work and field programs; closing out each according to subscribed reporting requirements
• Assist with day-to-day management of drill contractor; monitoring of rig sampling practises, ensure diamond core, RC & RAB sampling is done to company standards
• Ensure the timely completion of concise and clearly-communicated geological and department reporting (daily &monthly)

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Geology
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an exploration role
• Skilled in GIS software, preferably QGIS, Leapfrog and with exposure to exploration geostatistical packages (ioGAS or other)
• An understanding of Eastern Goldfields geology and Archaean gold lode systems
• Demonstrable experience in initiating and testing novel geological theories
• Concise and efficient at report writing and other geological documentation
• Class C WA manual driver’s licence
