Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Australia is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead engineering delivery for High Voltage Substation and renewable energy projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will coordinate activities from design through commissioning, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and high quality.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, about 5+ years in HV, utilities, renewables, and an ability to engage stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
• 5+ years' experience within High Voltage, Utilities, Renewables, Transmission, Distribution, or related industries.
• Eligible for or working towards CPEng registration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering activities across project lifecycles.
• Deliver technical solutions for High Voltage and utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Support testing, installation, commissioning, and project execution activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers and supply chain teams to ensure technical requirements are met.
• Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, and contract management activities.
• Assist with customer engagement and provide technical guidance throughout project delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement and share engineering best practices across the business.

About the Role

• Experience participating in multidisciplinary project teams.
