Job summary

Verve Events International in Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a seasoned Project Director to lead major programs and flagship events across APAC. The role combines strategic client leadership with hands-on event delivery, commercial accountability and team leadership.

You will own client portfolios from brief to onsite delivery, building trusted relationships and translating objectives into exceptional experiences.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in B2B corporate events.
• Proficient with Slack for internal and external communication and collaboration.
• Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) for creating polished client presentations.
• Experience with Monday.com for Project/Budget Management and CRM.
• Experience with Jomablue registration and event platform.
• Experience with AI Productivity Tools.

Responsibilities

• Personally lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of major programs and flagship events across assigned client portfolios.
• Own the full event lifecycle from brief, strategy and planning through to production, logistics and onsite delivery.
• Lead and delegate effectively to Project Coordinators or Event Executives supporting larger programs, while retaining overall accountability for delivery.
• Ensure events are delivered to Verve's standards, on time, on budget and aligned to the client's objectives.
• Own senior client relationships across allocated portfolios, building trusted partnerships across multiple markets.
• Bring a strategic and advisory lens, understanding clients' business objectives and KPIs and translating these into meaningful event experiences.
• Own the commercial performance of assigned programs, including budgets, forecasting, scope and profitability.
• Lead and coach Project Coordinators and Event Executives supporting assigned programs, providing clear direction, delegation and feedback.
• Personally lead production, creative, logistics, sponsorship and onsite delivery across assigned events.
• Plan and lead onsite delivery, including rehearsals, event flow and key client moments.

About the role

The Project Director is a senior, hands-on role responsible for leading key client portfolios and personally managing the end-to-end delivery of major programs and flagship events across APAC. The role combines strategic client leadership with hands-on event delivery, commercial accountability and team leadership. Project Directors own their client portfolios and events from brief through to onsite delivery. They build trusted senior relationships, understand client objectives and translate these into exceptional event experiences. On larger flagship programs, they will lead the delivery with support from a Project Coordinator or Event Executive, while retaining overall ownership and accountability.
