About the opportunity

GMHBA has an ambitious vision over the next ten years to move from being a private health insurer with health businesses to an integrated care company that prioritises seamless customer experience.

Key to realising this vision is ensuring that our teams are equipped with the right technology, including a market leading ERP Platform that incorporates Finance, HR, Business planning, Payroll and analytic capabilities.

The Project Director will support the delivery of a broad range of program initiatives within the digital transformation team.

This role will support the business through strategic project management and the hands‑on delivery of operational activities and will play a key part in shaping the technology and culture that support our vision for seamless, customer‑centred care.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee delivery of a multi‑million‑dollar transformation project
  • Provide strategic leadership and resource planning, ensuring business continuity and future readiness.
  • Manage program scope, budgets, risks, and dependencies, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
  • Develop and execute change management and stakeholder engagement plans in collaboration with People & Culture.
  • Ensure governance, compliance and reporting standards are met, including audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders to achieve program success.
CRM Transformation
  • Lead the next stage of our CRM transformation, including completion of the transition to Dynamics 365
  • Consolidation of customer and provider management into our new CRM
  • Reducing reliance on HAMBS for non‑core functions
  • Single source of truth for our customer data
  • Consolidated systems for our employees

Simplification of the customer digital experience

Provide customers with options for interaction with GMHBA through multi‑channel service provision and touchpoints for our customers.

Enhanced self‑service capabilities for our customers.

Organisational changes
  • New ways of working – Streamlined processes and practices enabled by our industry‑leading technology capability
  • Define and implement the capability and maturity of the functions required to drive performance
  • Defining the underlying cost and commercial constructs required to operate sustainably
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline (e.g. business administration, program management, computer science or a related field) or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years project management experience or equivalent leadership experience in managing high‑value, highly complex pieces of work.
  • Familiarity with the broader Finance and HR technology ecosystem.
  • Experience in highly regulated or governed sectors (e.g. APS, Finance, Healthcare).
  • Excellent diplomacy skills and a proven ability to establish and maintain interpersonal and professional relationships.
  • Extensive requirements gathering experience across large, complex projects.
  • Equal ability to work both at a strategic development level and at an operational level.

Highly desirable

  • Proficiency with one or more leading ERP systems (Workday preferred).
