A Queensland government department is seeking a Project Director for the eHealth Digital Capital Program. The role involves managing high-risk ICT projects while coordinating the Cairns Hospital kitchen redevelopment. Successful candidates must demonstrate expertise in ICT project management and stakeholder engagement in a healthcare environment. This position offers competitive salary, flexible working arrangements, and opportunities for career development within a supportive team focused on transforming healthcare services in Queensland.
Reporting to the Program Director (Digital Lead), the Project Director is responsible for the delivery of large scale, complex and high-risk IM/ICT projects within the eHealth Digital Capital Program.
This role will manage recently identified urgent dependencies and oversee the digital delivery components of the Cairns Hospital kitchen redevelopment. You will provide customer centric delivery, ensuring project outcomes are achieved and digital solutions are delivered that are responsive to customer needs. You will provide expert advice and strategic input into the development of project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with Queensland Health policies, strategies, and Architecture.
We're looking for an experienced Project Director who can confidently lead complex, high-pressure digital and infrastructure delivery in a healthcare environment. You will bring deep expertise in ICT project management, critically with exposure to kitchen management systems or similarly integrated management systems and be able to navigate tight timeframes, critical dependencies, and multidisciplinary stakeholder groups.
This role requires someone who can rapidly mobilise, provide clear direction, and drive coordinated ICT planning and delivery across a major construction program.
You will be skilled at developing interim and long-term digital solutions, collaborating closely with clinical, operational, and infrastructure teams, and producing high-quality artefacts that can be reused across multiple hospital projects.
Most importantly, you will be motivated by enabling safe, reliable hospital operations and ensuring the successful transition to a new on-demand food service model that underpins broader Hospital Rescue Plan outcomes. If you thrive in complex environments, excel at risk mitigation, and can deliver clarity and momentum where it's urgently needed, this role is designed for you.
