Department of Justice in Western Australia is recruiting for a permanent, full-time position within Youth Justice Services in Perth. The role focuses on leading complex projects to deliver Youth Justice Strategy priorities, performing high-level research and analysis, and building productive stakeholder relationships to improve outcomes for young people in the justice system.

Youth Justice Services is responsible for the safety, security and rehabilitation of young people in both community and custody. Its core objective is to reduce reoffending among young people through services to divert young people away from the criminal justice system; programs and services for young people on orders in the community; and programs and services in custody.
All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.
Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for a candidate who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the Essential Selection Criteria listed in the attached Job Description Form.
This criteria outlined will be what the panel will assess throughout the selection process.
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
In accordance with the National Child Safety Principles, people who work directly with children and young people, you must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for appointment to this position.
Applicants found suitable but not recommended for this vacancy, may be considered for subsequent similar vacancies for a period of twelve (12) months, in accordance with section 7d of the Commissioner’s Instructions No.48 – Recruitment, Selection and Appointment to Permanent Vacancies, and section 9d of the Commissioner Instructions 49 - Recruitment, Selection and Appointment to Fixed Term Vacancies. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered at Perth Metropolitan area during this period.
