You will read drawings, select suitable stones, cut, shape and install features, and collaborate with clients to realise their design preferences.

The position requires a Certificate III in Stonemasonry and a minimum of three years of hands-on experience, with a strong focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Stonemasonry is required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of different stone properties.
• Knowledge and experience with heavy and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand drawings and specifications to determine materials required.
• Collaborate with clients to understand design preferences and provide recommendations.
• Select stones for each project based on durability, appearance and intended use.
• Cut, shape and carve stones to create architectural features per specifications.
• Measure and calculate to ensure proper proportions and symmetry.
• Arrange and set stones in mortar to construct walls, floors and other structures.
• Cut and polish kitchen benchtops and stone walls as required.
• Polish stones using wet cutting and polishing hand tools.
• Laminate or glue for different types of stones and shape edges as required.
• Assemble and fabricate various parts to finish products.
• Maintain and safely use tools and promote a safe working environment.
