Job summary

The Painter will prepare internal and external surfaces, read plans, mix paints, and apply coatings with brushes, rollers or spray equipment, maintaining safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

AQF Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, or equivalent.
At least two years of painting and decorating experience.
Experience painting interior and exterior surfaces.
Ability to read plans, follow specifications and use trade tools.
Current driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret plans, specifications, colour schedules and work instructions.
Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, washing, scraping, sanding and cleaning.
Set up work areas, ladders, scaffolding, protect floors and fixtures.
Mix and apply primers, paints, stains and coatings to achieve required finish.
Inspect completed work, perform touch-ups and maintain tools and safety practices.
Cooperate with supervisors, builders, clients and other trades to complete projects safely.
