Sydney Professional Experience Placement (PEP) Coordinator

About the opportunity
The Sydney Professional Experience Placement (PEP) Coordinator works across UTAS Health. The position of PEP Coordinator is integral to the sustainability and future success of the NSW campus as PEP is a mandatory component of undergraduate programs offered in NSW and provides support to post graduate courses requiring placement. The role has responsibility for and oversight of all placements both on campus and in partnership with Tasmanian courses requiring placement in mainland Australia.
The Sydney PEP Coordinator is situated at the University’s campus at Rozelle Sydney and will work closely with Academic Units across UTAS Health to ensure the effective delivery of PEP. The incumbent will continue to work with current and prospective partners to build, nurture and maintain relationships to ensure placement curriculum requirements are met.
What you’ll do
- Direct and oversee the efficient delivery of the Professional Experience Placement process for students, staff and industry partners associated with the Sydney campus including interstate and international locations.
- Manage the highly specialised Sydney PEP Team to ensure timely delivery of the placements in line with curriculum requirements, policies, procedures and quality assurance processes.
- Maintain effective relationships with industry partners to ensure continuing provision of placement and promote growth of placement opportunities.
- Manage and oversee the use of IN Place and other placement management systems within and external to the University in accordance with UTAS Health and partner guidelines.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, guidance and support to Sydney Professional Experience Placement team members to ensure students undertaking PEP meet contemporary compliance requirements as required by university, industry partner, jurisdictional and accreditation bodies.
- Remain up to date with policy, regulatory and numerous partner requirements and disseminate complex expert advice and support to key academic staff to provide an efficient, effective, consistent and up‑to‑date Professional Experience Placement process to all stakeholders across multiple disciplines simultaneously.
- Provide administration support for Sydney facilitation requirements.
- Foster a Lean methodology to placement processes to identify and implement a continuous improvement cycle.
What we’re looking for
- Completion of a relevant Diploma level qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Extensive experience and management expertise in a relevant area and demonstrated commitment to implementing approaches to PEP that respond to student and partner needs.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks, process high‑volume tasks efficiently and effectively, and deliver outcomes to strict deadlines.
- Proven ability as a people leader with a record in team building and creating collaborative working relationships and capacity to foster excellence in others to create and deliver an effective and supportive placement experience for all students, staff and partners alike.
- Demonstrated interpersonal oral and written communication and client service skills including the ability to liaise with staff, students and partners.
- Demonstrated digital literacy skills including extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/Teams in particular the use of shared mailboxes and managing large volumes of email correspondence and the ability to work with web‑based IT systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting continuous quality improvement within an organisation.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
