How you'll make an impact

As Production Support Principal, you'll take end-to-end accountability for the stability, resilience, availability and operational performance of AMP's North platform and its supporting technology services. Sitting within Platforms Technology, this is a senior leadership role where you'll shape how a critical wealth platform is supported in production, bringing together technical leadership, service management, operational resilience and a strong focus on continually improving reliability and performance.

You'll be the senior escalation point when it matters most, providing calm, decisive leadership through major incidents while also looking beyond the immediate fix to address root causes, recurring issues and technical debt. With much of the technical support delivered through managed service providers and technology partners, you'll set the standard for operational excellence, hold partners accountable for outcomes, and influence improvements across monitoring, observability, resilience, recovery and automation. Just as importantly, you'll help strike the balance between enabling technology change and protecting the stability of the platform.

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll bring significant leadership experience across Production Support, Technology Operations, Platform Operations, Site Reliability Engineering or a comparable enterprise technology environment, with a strong track record of owning highly available production services. You'll have enough technical depth across applications, infrastructure, databases, integrations, cloud and hybrid environments to challenge technical teams, interrogate root-cause analysis and ensure remediation is sustainable rather than simply treating the symptom.

You’ll also bring strong experience across major incident leadership, Incident and Problem Management, Change and Release Management, operational resilience, disaster recovery and service governance. Critically, you'll be comfortable owning outcomes in an environment where delivery is distributed across internal teams and managed service providers. Strong stakeholder influence and people leadership will be essential, as will the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear business impacts, risks and decisions for senior stakeholders. Experience within financial services or another highly regulated environment will be highly regarded.
