Job summary

Sharpe Engineering is seeking a Production Scheduler to connect production planning with daily workshop delivery. Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll develop practical schedules, confirm jobs are ready to start and keep accurate information flowing between the workshop and support teams.

This hands-on role in a manufacturing and engineering environment involves coordinating with Workshop leaders, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and Purchasing to identify constraints and support reliable

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, machining, fabrication or a workshop with scheduling exposure.
• Proficiency using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, bills of materials, routings and lead times.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage interdependent priorities.
• Clear communication and calm adaptability when conditions change.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily and weekly schedules across work centres, machines and shifts.
• Sequence jobs against priorities, capacity, material availability and routing requirements.
• Check job readiness including drawings, materials, tooling, programs and inspection.
• Monitor progress, update forecasts and respond to delayed or at‑risk jobs.
• Maintain ERP/MRP information, including routings, hours, status and dates.
• Support BOMs and methods of manufacture with updates for actual cycle times.
• Identify recurring scheduling issues and implement practical improvements.
