Job summary

Netflix Animation Studios in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a Character Modeling Artist to create production-ready character models with strong proportions and clean topology. Experience with Marvelous Designer is a plus.

You will translate 2D designs into compelling 3D forms, optimise UVs, and collaborate with Rigging, Layout and Lighting to deliver polished assets on tight production timelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years modelling in a VFX or animated feature pipeline.
• Proficiency with Maya and ZBrush.
• Experience with Marvelous Designer.
• Strong understanding of character appeal and silhouette.

Responsibilities

• Interpret 2D designs and translate into 3D while preserving artistic intent.
• Create complex or stylised character models with strong appeal and correct topology.
• Create accurate UVs for downstream departments.
• Deliver production-ready meshes with clean topology for Rigging, Layout and Lighting.
• Ensure work meets quality standards within scheduled timeframes.
• Maintain open communication with the Leadership team.
