Job summary

Primo Foods is seeking a Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Wacol. You will develop and manage short, medium and long-term production plans to meet customer demand while optimising inventory, capacity, yield and efficiency.

You’ll work closely with Operations, Supply Planning and site stakeholders to support service, cost and production objectives across the business. This role offers growth opportunities within a leading FMCG organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory management and/or material planning.
• Strong experience in a food manufacturing, FMCG or logistics environment is desirable.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across operations and planning teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily production plans aligned to the Master Production Schedule.
• Support service level targets through effective inventory management and adherence to policies.
• Analyze availability of raw materials, packaging and inputs, adjusting plans to manage constraints.
• Manage daily raw material requirements and coordinate meat ordering to ensure continuity of production.
• Ensure plans consider changeovers, inventory priorities, stock-on-hold and machinery contingencies.
• Review production performance against plan, investigate variances and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor finished goods inventory levels and stock projections, escalating risks.
• Review yields to improve product recovery and minimise waste.
• Collaborate with Production Supervisors, Site Managers and Supply Planners to align activities with demand.
• Communicate priorities, capacity constraints and issues while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing short, medium and long-term production plans to ensure customer demand is met while optimising inventory, capacity, yield and operational efficiency.

Working closely with Operations, Supply Planning, and site stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in supporting service, cost and production objectives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily production plans aligned to the Master Production Schedule
• Support service level targets through effective inventory management and adherence to inventory policies
• Analyse the availability of raw materials, packaging and other critical inputs, adjusting plans to manage constraints
• Manage daily raw material requirements and coordinate meat ordering to ensure continuity of production
• Ensure production plans consider changeovers, inventory priorities, stock-on-hold processes, chiller stock management and machinery breakdown contingencies
• Review production performance against plan, investigate variances and implement corrective actions where required
• Monitor finished goods inventory levels and stock projections, escalating supply risks and shortages as appropriate
• Review raw material and packaging yields, identifying opportunities to improve product recovery and minimise waste
• Collaborate with Production Supervisors, Site Managers, Operations teams and Supply Planners to align production activities with business priorities and customer demand
• Communicate production priorities, capacity constraints, inventory risks and operational issues while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory management and/or material planning
• Experience in a food manufacturing, FMCG or logistics environment highly desirable
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across operational and planning teams
• Experience using ERP, MRP, planning and inventory management systems, with advanced Microsoft Excel capability
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and data accuracy
