Job summary

Holcim is seeking a Production Officer in Portsmith, Cairns to support operations, logistics and administration on a safety-conscious site. You will be trained on equipment and systems, with funding for necessary licences, and join a collaborative team committed to safe, efficient production.

The role offers regular hours, outdoor site work, and opportunities to grow into site leadership with strong safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; full training provided.
• Licensing support including forklift/front-end loader licences is funded by us.
• Australian work rights required.

Responsibilities

• Safety & wellbeing: maintain a safe, healthy work environment for the team.
• Operations & logistics: manage concrete production dispatches and driver schedules.
• Inventory & site care: track stock, coordinate deliveries, assist with site operations and equipment handling.
• Administration: use stock management and dispatch software (full onboarding provided).
• Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00 am – 4:00 pm, with occasional Saturday shifts.
• Work environment: hands-on outdoor site work with PPE and safety protocols.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Working alongside a friendly, cooperative team, your day will involve:

• Safety & Wellbeing: Contributing to a clean, safe, and healthy work environment where team members look out for one another.
• Operations & Logistics: Managing concrete production dispatch, coordinating driver schedules, and organizing smooth transport logistics.
• Inventory & Site Care: Tracking raw material stock, coordinating deliveries, and assisting with general site operations (including equipment operation and handling bagged products).
• Administration: Using computer systems for stock management and dispatch logistics (full software onboarding provided).
• Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00 am - 4:00 pm (with occasional Saturday shifts during peak project periods).
• Work Environment: An active, hands-on role combining outdoor site work (low level physicality), equipment operation, and office coordination. Full personal protective equipment (PPE) and comprehensive safety protocols are provided to ensure your health and well-being.
