Job summary

Tastyone Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and organised Production Manager to oversee and coordinate production operations at our food manufacturing facility in West Footscray. This role is responsible for planning and managing production activities, coordinating people and resources, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring production targets are achieved efficiently and consistently. Working closely with senior management, supervisors and production teams, you will play an important role in managing day-to-day operations, controlling costs and improving productivity across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor production strategies, policies and plans in line with business objectives.
• Plan and coordinate production schedules, including output targets, quality standards, labour requirements, costs and delivery timeframes.
• Oversee plant operations, production processes, equipment maintenance planning and the availability of materials, parts and tools.
• Monitor production performance, operating costs and resource utilisation, implementing adjustments to improve efficiency and minimise waste.
• Liaise with senior management and other departments regarding production performance, capacity, operational issues and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate the selection, acquisition and installation of new plant and equipment.
• Review production methods and workflows and implement improvements to productivity, product quality and operational performance.
• Ensure production records, quality documentation and operational reports are accurate and maintained.
• Coordinate work health and safety requirements and promote compliance with applicable legislation, standards and company procedures.
• Direct, train and supervise production staff, allocate responsibilities and monitor performance against production objectives.

About you

• A bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering or a closely related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least one year of relevant experience in production management, manufacturing operations or a similar role.
• Knowledge of production planning, quality control, resource allocation and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production, inventory or scheduling systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to monitor performance and control operating costs.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and motivate a production team.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines while maintaining quality, safety and productivity standards.
