Job summary

Anduril Industries in Sydney, Australia seeks a Product Quality Engineer with a focus on testing to join our Quality organisation. You will develop and execute processes delivering high quality, reliable products, supporting Manufacturing Test, Production and Engineering teams.

The role requires knowledge of manufacturing, product development, metrology, and continuous improvement, with hands-on accountability for results and the ability to work across internal teams, customers, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field.
• Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense/maritime or similar hardware.
• Experience driving product quality and performance requirements to test and measurement system development and optimization.
• Knowledge of FMEA, APQP, PPAP elements such as MSA and GD&T.
• Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical test processes.
• Ownership mindset to drive projects end-to-end.
• Ability to obtain NV2 Security Clearance.

Anduril’s Quality organisation is seeking a Product Quality Engineer with a focus on Testing to join our team in Sydney, Australia. You will work inside & outside the organization to define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high quality & reliable products.

This role focuses on our Dive‑XL product with opportunity. The right person for this role has knowledge of manufacturing, product development, sub‑system performance criteria and metrology, and continuous improvement. The Quality team works with our internal teams, customers and suppliers to ensure the deployment of reliable products that meet all mission requirements. The Quality Engineer (Test) will support the Manufacturing Test /Production/Engineering teams to ensure quality objectives are met and mitigate risks affecting production deliverables. Additionally, you’ll investigate/ troubleshoot product and production issues, raise non‑conformance tickets for triage, support product traceability, take corrective action as well as define and implement standards/ specifications/ processes across the QMS.

What You’ll Do

• Work in a modern manufacturing environment developing and refining processes for incoming inspection, in‑process inspection and end of line inspection.
• Support factory acceptance testing through procedure refinement, verification activities and troubleshooting.
• Support ongoing development of manufacturing and test work instructions
• Review and propose continuous improvement projects for productivity gains, quality improvements, and benefits to Anduril's quality policy.
• Review and develop test methodology to validate mechanical and electrical systems against their requirements
• Support internal and external audits on processes and procedures.
• Investigate and perform root cause analysis to determine corrective and preventative actions to eliminate failures in test.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field
• Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense/maritime or similar hardware.
• Experience driving product quality and performance requirements to test and measurement system development and optimization. Leading the transition from engineering qualification to manufacturing variance testing for product quality coverage.
• Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements such as Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical test processes
• A strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion.
• Analytical skills and experiences for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools (MatLab, JMP, MiniTab, etc)
• Ability to obtain and maintain an NV2 Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• 5-7 years of experience with developing quality systems for low volume, high complex manufacturing environments and suppliers.
• Working knowledge of AS 9100/ ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements.
• Experience with IPC standards
• Experience with government contracts and mil standard requirements.
• Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks and Jira.
• Expierience with Python or other coding language
