Job summary

BYD Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Product Engineer based at our Mulgrave office. This fixed-term contract role acts as a bridge between local business, sales teams, dealers and global IT/product groups to translate local requirements into scalable digital solutions.

You will manage end-to-end delivery of digital products, from requirements gathering and analysis through to solution definition, development, testing, implementation and launch, ensuring alignment with global standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in product management, product engineering, business analysis, or digital solution delivery.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.
• Experience with Agile methodologies is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with local sales teams, dealers and overseas business units to gather and analyse localized business requirements, and prepare requirement assessments, effort estimates, implementation plans and delivery milestones.
• Translate business requirements into clear and structured Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories and feature backlogs, ensuring requirements are clearly communicated to global product and development teams.
• Coordinate and follow up on the end-to-end product delivery lifecycle, including requirements clarification, scheduling, development, testing, implementation and launch.
• Work closely with IT, product, development and business teams to identify and resolve requirements, technical and implementation issues throughout the delivery process.
• Conduct market and competitive research to identify relevant digital solutions and industry practices and provide recommendations for product and system improvements.
• Gather feedback from local users, sales teams and dealers, monitor product performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization.
• Ensure local digital solutions are aligned with global product standards while addressing specific Australian market and business requirements.
