Job summary

Bapcor is seeking a Design Engineer based in Springvale, VIC, to drive the design of automotive products from concept through to market launch. You will contribute to a multidisciplinary team, applying analytical and creative thinking to deliver robust suspension solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Design Engineering, SolidWorks certification, and hands-on experience with vehicle suspension design and validation, along with knowledge of ADR and certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Design Engineering (3+ years’ experience).
• SolidWorks certification (Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate or higher).
• Experience in vehicle suspension design and engineering validation.
• Knowledge of VSB-14, ADR, and vehicle certification processes.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, time management, and collaboration.

Job Description

We are seeking a Design Engineer with vehicle steering and suspension experience. The ideal candidate will be both analytical and creative, with an enthusiasm for aftermarket automotive products and a natural flair for design. Reporting to the Research and Development Manager and based in Springvale, VIC, this role offers the opportunity to join an established team of engineers and technicians, developing a wide range of automotive products from concept through to market launch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Design Engineering (+3 years’ experience).
• SolidWorks certification (minimum: Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate).
• Previous experience in vehicle suspension design and engineering validation.
• Knowledge of VSB-14, ADR, and vehicle certification processes.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, time management, and collaboration skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
