Job summary

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sensory testing, shelf-life studies, and ingredient evaluations.
• Prepare and maintain product specifications, technical documentation and compliance records.
• Support product commercialisation, manufacturing readiness and product launches.
• Act as liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and major retailers.
• Identify improvements and cost-down opportunities within NPD processes.

The business is a major player in the FMCG space delivering short shelf life products to the major retailers. Operating from their purpose built Manufacturing HQ near Bankstown the business is seeking a Product Development Coordinator reporting to their NPD Manager.

About the role

Working closely with the major retailers the NPD Coordinator manages project timelines, product specifications, trial planning, documentation, and stakeholder communication while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, and customer standards. Working predominantly on existing products you will:

• Coordinate NPD projects from concept through to commercial launch; Managing project timelines, milestones, action plans, and stage-gate processes.
• Support product development, reformulation, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate sensory testing, benchmarking, shelf-life studies, and ingredient evaluations.
• Prepare and maintain product specifications, technical documentation, and compliance records ensuring products meet regulatory, customer, and quality requirements.
• Support product commercialisation, manufacturing readiness, and product launches.
• Act as the key liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders in the major retailers
• Identify Improvement and cost down opportunities within NPD processes

About you

You are a NPD/ Food Technologist/ Product Developer with at least 2 to 3 years experience working within a food manufacturing environment handling end to end development. You have a good understanding of HACCP, FSANZ, SQF and polished stakeholder engagement skills both externally and with key internal stakeholders. You are Degree qualified in a Food Science or related technical field.
