Transurban is seeking a Procurement Manager in Sydney to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and deliver sustainable, high-value commercial outcomes across our operations. The role focuses on partnering with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to optimise spend while mitigating risk.

You will apply customer-focused thinking and sound commercial principles to ensure our supply chain supports our critical infrastructure.

• Foster strong Relationship Building and Collaborative Delivery, partnering with cross-functional internal stakeholders, project leaders, and external suppliers to achieve shared strategic goals.
• Harness AI & Data Literacy and Critical Thinking to interrogate market trends, supplier performance, and spend analytics, delivering clear commercial insights to guide executive decision-making.

We’re seeking a Procurement Manager to lead our strategic sourcing initiatives and deliver sustainable, high-value commercial outcomes across our operations. Day-to-day, you will

• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing and category management strategies, applying strong Commercial Acumen to drive value, mitigate risk, and optimise spend across key business categories.
• Navigate complex supplier markets and shifting project priorities with Adaptability and proactive Problem Solving, identifying innovative solutions for sustainable commercial delivery.
• Foster strong Relationship Building and Collaborative Delivery, partnering with cross-functional internal stakeholders, project leaders, and external suppliers to achieve shared strategic goals.
• Harness AI & Data Literacy and Critical Thinking to interrogate market trends, supplier performance, and spend analytics, delivering clear commercial insights to guide executive decision-making.

Including

• Commercial Strategy & Sourcing: Demonstrated experience leading strategic sourcing events, market go-to-market activities, or broader commercial deal‑making—evaluating business requirements, scanning market options, and designing commercial structures that unlock value and optimise spend.
• Negotiation & Deal Execution: Proven success driving commercial negotiations and structuring contracts (e.g., Statements of Work, master services agreements, or partnership terms) using strong Commercial Acumen to secure favourable terms, create value, protect business interests, and manage delivery risk.
• Supplier Engagement & Stakeholder Alignment: Strong track record in Relationship Building and Collaborative Delivery, partnering effectively with cross-functional internal stakeholders to define sourcing requirements and managing external supplier relationships to ensure commitments are delivered.
• Market Intelligence & Spend Analytics: High AI & Data Literacy and Critical Thinking, with a talent for analysing spend profiles, cost models, and market intelligence to uncover sourcing opportunities and present actionable commercial recommendations to decision-makers.
• Commercial Problem Solving & Delivery: A strong background in procurement, commercial management, business partnering, or project delivery—applying proactive Problem Solving and Adaptability to navigate shifting project priorities and dynamic supplier markets.
