Job summary

Marand in Australia is seeking an experienced Procurement Lead to own a critical Defence program's supply chain, focusing on cost, quality, delivery and supply continuity.

You will work with internal teams and external suppliers, shaping procurement strategy, improving supplier performance and mitigating risks. This hands-on role offers ownership across procurement planning, supplier contracts and reporting.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Defence procurement experience.
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, project management or commercial roles within manufacturing or engineering.
  • Strong supplier relationship, contract management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement and sourcing activities, including supplier evaluation, negotiation and selection.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned to program requirements, budgets and delivery schedules.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships across an established supplier network.
  • Negotiate and administer supplier contracts, including changes and commercial requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery and compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Manage procurement planning, purchase orders and supplier commitments.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear reporting on supply chain performance, risks and supplier metrics.

Job Description

Your new role:

Marand is looking for an experienced Procurement Lead to take ownership of an established supply chain supporting a critical Defence program. This is a hands-on role where you will play a key part in ensuring cost, quality, delivery and supply continuity throughout the program lifecycle.

You will be commercially minded, proactive and confident working across both internal teams and external suppliers.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, operations and a diverse supplier network, you will have the opportunity to influence procurement strategy, strengthen supplier performance and proactively manage supply chain risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement and sourcing activities, including supplier evaluation, negotiation and selection.

As an ideal candidate you will have:

  • 5+ years' experience in Defence procurement.
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, project management or commercial roles within manufacturing or engineering.

  • Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving capability.
