Job summary

Ku-ring-gai Council is seeking an experienced Coordinator, Purchasing and Stores to lead purchasing, stores and inventory operations within the Procurement and Contract Management team.

You will oversee day-to-day procurement activities, supplier management and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with council policies and delegated authority across procurement processes.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory, stores, warehousing or logistics operations.
• Current Class C Driver Licence and High Risk Work Licence (LF – Forklift).
• NSW Construction Induction (White Card) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Purchasing and Stores team with work allocation, training and performance management.
• Oversee purchasing, stores and inventory operations including stock control and stocktakes.
• Manage corporate supply contracts and preferred supplier arrangements.
• Conduct sourcing, RFQs and tenders within delegated authority.
• Oversee Procure-to-Pay (P2P) activities including requisitions and purchase orders.
• Manage supplier onboarding and vendor data and ensure compliance.
• Provide specialist procurement advice and training to staff.
• Monitor compliance with policies, delegations and records.
• Prepare reports on purchasing activity, inventory performance and supplier management.
• Identify continuous improvement in procurement, stores and inventory processes.
• Assist internal and external audit activities.
