Job summary

Martin Brower is seeking a commercially minded Procurement Category Manager - Indirects in Australia. You will help shape how indirect spend is managed across ANZ, covering labour hire, facilities management, consumables, logistics and professional services.

You will partner with stakeholders to source, manage suppliers and deliver value while gaining hands-on experience in category strategy, sourcing and supplier management in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain within FMCG, logistics or distribution.
• Exposure to indirect categories such as labour hire, facilities management, or similar.
• Experience in supplier management, sourcing activities or contract support.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
• Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of indirect spend category plans across labour hire, fleet, facilities and consumables.
• Analyse spend, supplier performance and market insights to identify cost, service and value improvements.
• Support end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFQs, supplier selection and negotiations.
• Build strong supplier relationships to improve service, value and reliability across core and tail-end spend categories.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into practical procurement solutions.
• Monitor category performance, risks and opportunities, contributing to reporting and insights for stakeholders.
• Identify and deliver cost optimisation and value improvement initiatives across assigned categories.

Procurement Category Manager - Indirects

This is a great opportunity to step into a Category Manager role offering real exposure across a broad range of indirect spend including labour hire, facilities management (waste management, pest control and cleaning), consumables (packaging and PPE/workwear), fleet and logistics, professional services, consignment stock arrangements, tail-end spend, and broader operational requirements.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, ANZ, you’ll partner closely with stakeholders to improve how we source, manage suppliers and deliver value across the business, while gaining hands‑on experience across category strategy, sourcing and supplier management in a highly collaborative environment.

Day to day you will:

Support the development and execution of category plans across indirect spend, with a focus on key areas including labour hire, fleet and logistics, facilities, and consumables

Analyse spend, supplier performance and market insights to identify cost, service and value improvement opportunities

Support end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFQs, supplier selection and commercial negotiations

Build strong supplier relationships to improve service, value and reliability across core and tail-end spend categories

Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into practical procurement solutions

Monitor category performance, risks and opportunities, contributing to reporting and insights for stakeholders

Contribute to process improvements, governance and consistency across procurement practices, including tail-end spend management

Identify and deliver cost optimisation and value improvement initiatives across assigned categories

About You:

You’re a commercially minded procurement or supply chain professional who is ready to take the next step and build capability in category management.

You’ll bring:

Experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain within FMCG, logistics or distribution

Exposure to indirect categories such as labour hire, facilities management, consumables, logistics, professional services, or similar areas is advantageous

Experience in supplier management, sourcing activities or contract support

Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data to inform decisions

The ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across the business

A proactive, curious mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Understanding of sustainable procurement practices and ethical standards

Strong communication and organisational skills
