Job summary

Cleanaway's liquids division in Karratha, WA, is seeking a hands-on technician to operate pumps, treat liquids, and work with lab equipment. The role is a permanent full-time position in Karratha, with day shifts and optional Saturday work, starting times flexible to support operations.

You will handle hazardous materials, read SDS, perform sample analysis, and coordinate with engineering teams to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in processing and/or wastewater treatment facilities advantageous.
• Chemical handling favourable.
• Mechanical aptitude & proficient with hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate diaphragm and mono pumps to transfer bulk liquids.
• Treat water with chemical reagents.
• Use lab-based equipment for liquid analysis.
• Handle and treat Dangerous Goods; read SDS.
• Take samples and complete associated paperwork.
• Manage sludge removal and oil–water separation.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to meet goals.
• Maintain SDS folders and treatment/analysis records.

• $600 weekly housing allowance
• $41.82 per hour + penalties for overtime
• Monday to Friday, 6am to 4pm with optional Saturday work available
• Flexible start and finish times available

The Opportunity:

• Operation of diaphragm and mono pumps to transfer bulk liquids.
• Treatment of water with chemical reagents.
• Use of lab-based equipment for liquid analysis.
• handling and treatment of Dangerous Goods
• Dangerous goods manifesting and the ability to read and understand an SDS.
• Sample taking and associated analysis paperwork.
• Management of sludge removal from tanks, separation of moisture from oil and oil from water.
• Working with engineering and technical teams to achieve processing and product goals.
• Maintain SDS folders, load in and out records, treatment records, analysis records, etc...

About You:

• Experience in processing and/or wastewater treatment facilities advantageous
• Chemical handling favourable
• Mechanical aptitude & proficient with hand tools
• PFAS handling and treatment experience (desirable)Ability to work and communicate well with others.
