ACCIONA is leading the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant in Perth, a $2.8 billion project delivered in alliance with Water Corporation and Jacobs. Stage 1 will produce 150 million litres of drinking water a day for Western Australians. The plant integrates seawater desalination with on-site groundwater treatment, a first for a plant of this scale in WA. Construction is underway, with commissioning targeted for 2028.
This role supports the commissioning, start-up, performance testing and initial operation of the Alkimos plant. You will work across control room monitoring and field-based troubleshooting, coordinating with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and operations teams to support a safe, efficient start-up. It suits an engineer looking to build technical, operational and leadership capability on a large-scale water infrastructure project, with genuine exposure to commissioning at a scale few projects in Australia can offer.
