Job summary

Peoplebank is seeking a skilled professional to support and optimise critical OT network environments across complex industrial operations in Australia. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure Process Control Networks, supporting SCADA systems, and driving infrastructure improvements to boost performance and security.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in PCN/SCADA/OT environments, and hold a related engineering/IT degree.

Qualifications

• Experience in mining, energy, utilities, manufacturing, or other OT environments.
• Strong knowledge of Ethernet networking, TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and network security.
• Hands-on experience with PCN/SCADA/OT networks and security.
• Relevant degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, support, and maintain Process Control Network (PCN) infrastructure within OT environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial networking equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Support SCADA, control systems, and industrial application connectivity.
• Diagnose and resolve network, communications, and cybersecurity issues.
• Partner with operations, controls, and cybersecurity teams to improve network performance and security.
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, technology refreshes, and network improvement projects.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards and best practices.

Key Requirements

• Experience within mining, energy, utilities, manufacturing, or other OT environments


• Strong knowledge of Ethernet networking, TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and network security


• Hands‑on experience with technologies such as Cisco, Hirschmann, Stratix, Palo Alto, or similar


• Understanding of SCADA, industrial control systems, and OT network architectures


• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities


• Relevant degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field

Desirable:

• Experience with ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, or other OT cybersecurity frameworks


• Knowledge of industrial protocols including Modbus, DNP3, OPC, EtherNet/IP, or Profinet


• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Fortinet NSE
