Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering specialising in Electrical Engineering, Chemical / Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of APC and ARC control scheme development.
  • Familiarity with Honeywell systems or other DCS platforms would be highly desirable.

About the Role

Our Process Control Product Line is a key part of the Information Technology and Automation Solutions Global Refining portfolio at Alcoa.

We deliver cutting-edge technical services to Alumina Refineries worldwide, driving process optimisation through advanced process control, regulatory control, and digital technologies such as advanced instrumentation, process modelling, and machine learning.

We are currently on the lookout for a Process Control Engineer to join our dynamic team, working across Alcoa's Perth office and Honeywell in Rivervale.

Here, you'll collaborate with experts to develop innovative solutions that reduce process variability, boost productivity, and enable safer, more sustainable operations - making a real impact on global refining.

Your key activities and contributions will be :

  • Assisting in deploying advanced process control applications globally.
  • Supporting initiatives leveraging digital technologies to maximise value.
  • Developing and improving user interfaces for engineers and control attendants.
  • Building monitoring tools to enhance controller effectiveness.
  • Expanding your knowledge in advanced regulatory and process control.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners like Honeywell.

What you can bring to the role
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering specialising in Electrical Engineering, Chemical / Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of APC and ARC control scheme development.
  • Familiarity with Honeywell systems or other DCS platforms would be highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage priorities between site-based tasks and projects from central teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach to problem-solving and delivering solutions.
