Job summary

The GEO Group Australia is seeking Pharmacy Technicians for Barwon Prison in Lara. Roles include assisting in medication management, preparation for rounds, and administering prescribed meds within scope.

Training and support are provided, with pro‑rata part-time opportunities available. Essential qualifications include a Certificate III in Health (Hospital or Community Pharmacy) and relevant medication courses.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician or Community Pharmacy) or equivalent as approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
• Assist Clients with Medication course as part of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Health Care (e.g. Nursing Assistant).
• Completion of medication related courses as part of an undergrad degree in Nursing or Pharmacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in management of medications within scope of practice.
• Prepare for medication administration rounds.
• Administer prescribed medication.
• Assist in medication inventory and ordering under supervision.
