Interpack Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Printing Machinist to join our production team in Melbourne. The role involves operating offset and/or flexographic printing machinery for printed packaging components, ensuring high-quality print results and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience with offset or flexographic presses, strong colour control and ink management, and the ability to perform basic maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating commercial offset or flexographic printing machinery.
• Strong understanding of colour control, ink management and machine calibration.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multi-colour offset and/or flexographic presses.
• Install plates, rollers and cylinders, adjust ink, water balance and registration.
• Monitor print quality and make corrective adjustments for consistency.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication and minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot printing and mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
• Manage inks, coatings, substrates and materials for production.
• Complete production records and machine settings documentation.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance and quality teams.
• Follow WHS procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Printing Machinist to join our production team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining offset and/or flexographic printing machinery used in the manufacture of printed packaging components. The position plays a key role in ensuring consistent print quality, efficient workflow and timely delivery of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multi-colour offset and/or flexographic printing presses.
• Install plates, rollers and cylinders, and accurately adjust ink, water balance and registration.
• Monitor print quality and carry out corrective adjustments to ensure consistency.
• Conduct routine machine cleaning, lubrication and minor maintenance.
• Identify and troubleshoot printing and mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
• Manage inks, coatings, substrates and other materials required for scheduled production.
• Complete production records, machine settings and output documentation.
• Work collaboratively with production, engineering, maintenance and quality teams.
• Follow WHS procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
