Job summary

Aspire College of Sport & Islamic College of Sport seeks an exceptional Principal to lead the current Year 11 and 12 VCE VM program and drive the establishment of a Year 7-12 High-Performance Sports College in Victoria.

Reporting to the Board and working with the BHF Education Director, you will recruit and empower a high-performing team, ensure governance and compliance, and foster Islamic identity, wellbeing, and outstanding student outcomes in a faith-informed educational context.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Principal or senior educational leader.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, and program design.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Aspire College of Sport & Islamic College of Sport is seeking an exceptional Principal (Victoria) to lead our current Year 11 and 12 VCE VM program while driving the establishment of a unique Year 7-12 High-Performance Sports College.

As Principal, you will lead our existing senior secondary program while shaping the vision, culture, and growth of Aspire College of Sport ahead of its planned commencement in 2028.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Board and working closely with the BHF Education Director, you will:

• Lead and inspire our existing Year 11 and 12 VCE VM students and staff.
• Foster an environment where Islamic identity, faith, and values are nurtured and celebrated.
• Drive the strategic planning, growth, and establishment of the Victorian Year 7-12 school opening in 2028.
• Lead registration, governance, compliance, and school establishment activities.
• Create a culture centered on excellence, belonging, wellbeing, and high performance.
• Recruit, develop, and empower a high-performing team of educators and support staff.
• Champion outstanding teaching, learning, and student outcomes through an innovative educational model.
• Build strong relationships with students, families, community partners, sporting organisations, and key stakeholders.
• Support students to achieve success both academically and in their sporting pursuits.
• Ensure students and staff feel connected, supported, and empowered to thrive.

ABOUT YOU:

You are a visionary, values-driven educational leader who is passionate about creating opportunities for young people and building exceptional learning communities.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience as a Principal of a Senior School or in a comparable senior educational leadership position, leading staff, strategic planning, school improvement, and organisational growth.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment practices, educational program design, and continuous improvement within a secondary school setting.
• A proven commitment to student wellbeing, behaviour support, and holistic education.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working collaboratively with families, community organisations, and external partners.
• A sound understanding of school governance, compliance, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
• Financial and operational management capability, including oversight of budgets, resources, and school operations.
• Strong personal values and a genuine commitment to supporting Islamic identity, character development, and leading within a faith-informed educational context.
• Experience or interest in sports-focused education and supporting student-athletes to balance academic achievement with high-performance sporting commitments.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
• Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, or eligibility for registration.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills.
• Experience in independent, faith-based, alternative education, or sports-focused educational settings will be highly regarded.
