Job summary

Queensland Treasury is seeking a Principal Treasury Analyst to provide strategic financial and policy advice to senior executives, government agencies and key stakeholders across Queensland's energy portfolio and Government Owned Corporations.

You will lead analysis, reporting and policy development, craft Cabinet and Parliamentary material, and represent Treasury in interdepartmental groups, building strong relationships across government.

Qualifications

• Financial analysis and policy: Experience analysing and interpreting financial and non-financial performance information and data and/or developing government policy.
• Strategic advisory capability: The ability to provide expert analysis and advice that is strategic, practical and solutions oriented.
• Influential communication: Communication skills that are clear, persuasive and tailored to the audience.
• Stakeholder relationships: Highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills that support information sharing and collaboration.
• Judgement and perspective: Effective judgement and an ability to understand different perspectives when developing solutions and working with others.
• Sector knowledge: Experience in the energy sector will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Strategic advice and policy: Provide authoritative, solutionsfocused advice to clients and senior executives on complex budget, financial management, risk and related policy issues.
• Analysis and reporting: Lead processes and products that monitor, analyse and interpret financial and non-financial information, including agency budget and reporting requirements.
• Stakeholder outcomes: Exercise judgement and influence to coordinate client requirements, navigate complex issues and negotiate positive outcomes.
• Executive and government materials: Prepare high-quality reports, submissions, Cabinet and Parliamentary material, briefing notes, presentations and correspondence.
• Representation and collaboration: Represent Treasury at meetings, committees and interdepartmental working groups, while building productive relationships across government and with GOCs.
