UGL – A CIMIC Group Company in Sydney is seeking an experienced Principal Transmission Line Design Engineer – Foundations. You will lead a design team to develop conceptual and detailed foundation designs for transmission line projects, and interface with management on design issues.

The role requires a 4-year civil engineering degree, extensive transmission line foundation experience, and Chartered status with Engineers Australia.

Responsibilities

• Lead a design team to develop conceptual and detailed foundation designs for transmission line projects.
• Interface with management and other principal engineers on technical issues.
• Design resource planning, programs and budgets for tenders and projects.
• Prepare geotechnical briefs and review reports with external geotechnical engineers.
• Verify engineering work for compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Principal Primary Design Engineer – Full Time

UGL’S Utilities team designs, constructs and maintains critical infrastructure across the power, water and renewable sectors. Ranging from HV Substations and Transmission Lines up to 500kV to power stations and wastewater treatment plants. We design and construct the following assets: substations, transmission lines, power generation, and electrical distribution networks.

UGL is currently looking for an experienced Principal Transmission Line Design Engineer-Foundations to become a key member of the Transmission Line team based in Sydney. You will be responsible for providing detailed designs, developing specifications and interface with management on design issue

Your Role

Responsibilities

• Lead a design team that develops specifications, provides conceptual and detailed foundation designs for transmission line projects,
• Interface with management and other TL principal engineers on technical issues,
• Design Resource Planning, Engineering programs and budget estimates for UGL TL tenders and projects,
• Preparation of geotechnical investigation briefs, review geotechnical reports and liaise with third-party geotechnical engineers,
• Verify professional engineering works to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards

About You

• 4-year degree qualification to bachelor status in civil engineering,
• Fundamental understanding of transmission line structural design,
• 10+ years’ experience with transmission line works with focus to foundation design,
• Professional level knowledge of AS/NZS 7000, AS/NZS 3600 and other standards applicable to the transmission line design,
• Membership to Engineers Australia with Chartered status including CPEng, NER, RPEQ.
• Strong oral & written English language communication skills.
