Versent is seeking a Principal Solution Architect - Databricks & AI to lead enterprise-scale Data & AI transformations for Australia’s top organisations. You will influence executives, define modern data strategies, and architect AI-enabled solutions that deliver real business outcomes.

You’ll partner with clients to unlock the value of the Databricks Platform, modernise data ecosystems, and adopt GenAI, Agentic AI, RAG, Vector Search and intelligent data products.

Qualifications

• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional required.
• Proven enterprise Databricks delivery experience across architecture, governance and AI implementations.
• Experience architecting AI-enabled data platforms and GenAI capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture strategy and transformation engagements centered on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform.
• Define enterprise Data & AI roadmaps, operating models and governance frameworks.
• Architect modern data platforms across AWS and Azure.
• Design AI-powered data products using Databricks Mosaic AI.
• Advise on GenAI, ML, Data Governance, MLOps and Agentic AI capabilities.
• Facilitate executive workshops and architecture reviews.
• Provide thought leadership across Databricks, AI and modern data architectures.

Versent is seeking a Principal Solution Architect - Databricks & AI to lead enterprise-scale Data & AI transformations for some of Australia’s most recognised organisations.

This is a senior customer-facing consulting role for a proven Databricks expert who can influence executive stakeholders, define modern data strategies, and architect AI-enabled solutions that drive real business outcomes.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them unlock the value of the Databricks Platform, modernise their data ecosystems, and adopt emerging AI capabilities including GenAI, Agentic AI, RAG, Vector Search and intelligent data products.

What You’ll Do

• Lead architecture strategy and transformation engagements centred on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform.
• Define enterprise Data & AI roadmaps, operating models and governance frameworks.
• Architect modern data platforms across Azure and AWS.
• Design and guide implementation of AI-powered data products using Databricks Mosaic AI.
• Advise clients on GenAI, Machine Learning, Data Governance, MLOps and Agentic AI capabilities.
• Facilitate executive workshops, architecture reviews and strategic planning sessions.
• Provide thought leadership across Databricks, AI, analytics and modern data architectures.
• Support opportunity shaping, solution design and key client pursuits.
• Develop reusable architecture patterns, reference architectures and best practices for the broader Data & AI practice.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll have:

• Previous experience as a Solution Architect, Principal Architect or Data Architect in a consulting environment.
• Enterprise and solution architecture expertise across modern cloud data platforms, with deep experience designing and governing large-scale environments on AWS and Azure.
• Recognised Databricks authority with advanced capability across Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, data engineering frameworks, platform governance, and architectural best practice.
• Proven ability to architect AI-enabled data platforms leveraging Databricks Mosaic AI, Vector Search, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Serving, MLflow, and emerging agentic AI capabilities.
• Strong understanding of modern data ecosystems including Snowflake and adjacent analytics, governance, and AI platform patterns.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to connect business strategy with practical technology outcomes.
