IAG is seeking a Principal Solution Architect to lead architecture across Retail Technology, focusing on application, integration and data solutions. The role drives architectural direction with delivery and engineering teams across Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.

It is a permanent full-time position requiring senior leadership and strong stakeholder engagement. The role emphasizes cloud-native, API-first architectures and alignment to enterprise standards, with generous leave, work flexibility

• Strong expertise designing complex application, integration and data solutions.
• Experience designing scalable, secure and resilient application solutions on cloud/digital platforms.
• Role focuses on application, integration and data architecture, not infra/cloud engineering.
• Ability to align technology solutions with business objectives and enterprise standards.
• Knowledge of modern delivery practices, including Agile, cloud-native and API-first architectures.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across technical and business audiences.
• Proven ability to identify and manage architectural risks while driving pragmatic decisions.

As a Principal Solution Architect, you'll provide architecture leadership across priority Retail Technology initiatives with a strong focus on application, integration and data solutions, ensuring solutions are aligned to enterprise direction while remaining practical and delivery focused. This is a senior individual contributor role where your influence, technical leadership and architectural expertise will help drive better technology outcomes across the organisation.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) or Meanjin (Brisbane).

What You’ll Do

• Lead solution architecture for strategic Retail Technology programs and initiatives.
• Design scalable, secure and supportable solutions aligned to enterprise architecture principles.
• Partner with delivery and engineering teams to shape solution options and provide architectural direction.
• Facilitate architecture reviews, governance forums and key design decisions.
• Identify and manage architecture, integration, security and technology risks.
• Contribute to architecture standards, reusable patterns, roadmaps and best practices across the business

What You’ll Bring

• Strong expertise designing complex application, integration and data solutions, including architecture trade-offs, APIs, event-driven integration, data flows and non-functional requirements.
• Proven experience designing scalable, secure and resilient application solutions that use cloud and digital platforms
• This role is focused on application, integration and data architecture rather than infrastructure engineering, cloud platform engineering or systems administration.
• Ability to align technology solutions with business objectives, enterprise strategy and architecture standards.
• Strong understanding of modern delivery practices, including Agile, cloud-native and API-first architectures.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business audiences.
• Proven ability to identify and manage architectural risks while driving pragmatic, outcome-focused decisions.
